In 2015, during a residency at Torquay Museum ( which was began as a natural history museum) I asked for the help of my daughter to go through the collection of taxidermy birds. Almost all of the birds on the RSPB Red List were there.
I realised that she would never see or hear most of these birds and as she grew up they would become increasingly under threat of extinction. It is likely that if she has a child many of these birds will have slipped into myth. She handled them with such tenderness that it seemed impossible for me not to take these photographs.
